What happens when personal taste has free rein in architecture? In ‘Ugly Belgian Houses – The Final Edition’, Hannes Coudenys pairs photographs of remarkable Belgian homes with his characteristic witty commentary.
Launched in 2011 with a single photograph posted online, ‘Ugly Belgian Houses’ developed into a popular blog and book series. Fifteen years later, this concluding edition introduces further examples of homes that surprise, entertain and provoke debate.
Combining architectural photography with humour, the book offers an unconventional perspective on Belgium’s residential landscape. It invites architecture enthusiasts and curious readers alike to reconsider their own ideas of good taste — and what makes a house beautiful or ugly.
