Belgian architect Paul Felix (Ostend 1913 – Ostend 1981) was characterized by a clear geometry and sober use of materials. He introduced a ‘sober, functional building style’ in Belgium. With his achievements, in particular with the construction of monasteries and churches, he made an important contribution to the modernism of the 1950s in Belgium. His famous and controversial building, the Municipal Swimming Pool of Ostend (1970), was recently demolished. IN DUTCH!
