Johannes Norlander Arkitektur AB is an architectural office based in Stockholm, Sweden. HÅVN (completed in 2021) is the office’s first residential project in Belgium. The building is situated in the Nieuw Zuid district, just south of the center of Antwerp, adjacent to the river Scheldt. This area, once a transshipment site, has been transformed into a mixed residential area featuring various types of housing, services, and green spaces. HÅVN is a nearly 100-meter-long and 17-meter-wide concrete structure that houses both commercial spaces and apartments. Its character is slightly out of scale, much like the initial naive sketch. The book includes text, process images, architectural drawings, and photographs of and about the project.
