In this beautifully illustrated work, an international team of authors and curators takes a new look at the long career and the dazzling monumental paintings of the Dutch artist Jacqueline de Jong. The Dutch avant-garde artist Jacqueline de Jong (b.1939) is best known for her participation in the Situationist International and for her dazzling monumental paintings, although she also ventured into drawings, graphic designs, sculptures, jewelery, prints and books; from 1962 to 1967 she was also editor and publisher of The Situationist Times magazine. This book contains large-format reproductions of her works, many of them re-photographed, which allow the reader to discover how much importance de Jong attaches to color and the (non) transparency of the paint. An international team of writers and curators sheds light on the artist’s remarkable oeuvre and long career from various angles.
