Enter the captivating story of a little explorer in a strange world. While Melbourne endured an unprecedented lockdown, Australian photographer Andrew Rovenko captured his daughter Mia, dressed in a homemade astronaut suit and helmet, as she walked through their familiar yet strange neighborhood.
This deeply personal pandemic project quickly evolved into a globally recognized photo series and now a book, in which the little astronaut’s story reveals the surreal beauty around us, while teaching us to see the world differently.
In the accompanying text, playwright Tom Morton-Smith (My Neighbor Totoro, Oppenheimer) looks at Rovenko’s photographs with a child’s wonder.
