With the second volume of the third volume, edited by the , The work of archiving and scientific reading of Boetti’s work begun in 2009 under the direction of Anna Marie Sauzeau and Jean-Christophe Ammann.
The scientific direction the third volume (2 parts) is entrusted to Mark Godfrey, curator of the Tate Modern in London and author of a monograph on the artist as well as curator of the important international exhibition Game Plan. The work undertaken by Godfrey continues along the methodological line started by his predecessors, albeit with some innovations linked to new interpretations of the work.
The volume, essentially chronological, from 1980 to 1987, is divided into ten macro-chapters in which there is a wide range of works that are characterized by an almost private dimension and which are often on paper. A large quantity of sheets, of heterogeneous dimensions and iconography, narrate a crucial decade for the artist, characterized by work and personal changes as demonstrated by the cycles Nature is a dull affair, Calligraphies, Le Copertine, Le Clessidre zip and vice versa. In addition to the works on paper, there are also small embroideries, and the Arte Povera Remakes.
