In 1996, W< produced a CD-ROM interactive disk, which allowed the user to watch certain fashion shows, along with allowing the user to customize their own avatar using the certain items.
While quite basic by the standards of today’s graphics and customization capabilities, this was a relatively new idea at the time it was put out by WVB and W<.
The yet to be tapped potential of computers was just beginning to dawn on those in the fashion world, though truly no one could have predicted just how massive those changes would become. In terms of the aesthetics of the CD-ROM, it’s exactly what one would expect from a clothing line inspired by 90s ravers and the general counterculture of the period. Filled with neon graphics and sprites, the CD-ROM captured the counter cultural zeitgeist of the period, with all of its aspirations and hopes for a new technological utopia. (source: Izzy Davis)
