Queer!? Visual Arts in Europe / Beeldende kunst in Europa
QUEER!? Visual Arts in Europe 1969-2019 describes developments and themes in visual art focused on male homosexualities, gender variations and queer expressions. It relates stories that are well-known and stories that have been forgotten and ignored, against a backdrop of political change, changing views on gender, growing racial and ethnic awareness and ambiguous interpretations of queer. The book contains illustrations of art – from paintings to new media, some of it moving, some of it intense, much of it with humour – from the Netherlands and all four corners of Europe.
