Arriving in Paris in 1973, Paolo Roversi, originally from Ravenna, produced his first series in 1977. From then on, he devoted himself to fashion photography, working for the greatest designers and for the most prestigious magazines. A major player in French photography over the last forty years, he stands both at the heart of the system and at a distance, far from the ephemeral trends of fashion. In search of beauty, he honestly constructs a unique and mysterious work over which time has no influence. The choice of studio, large format camera and Polaroid, defined the photographer’s way of working and style for years to come. At the heart of his work are the meetings and faithful relationships with fashion designers and models. The universe of Paolo Roversi fits harmoniously with that of Yamamoto, but also of Romeo Gigli, Rei Kawakubo and Dior. Each new collaboration is a challenge to renew oneself. The work which accompanies the exhibition at the Palais Galliera was imagined and designed in close collaboration with the artist. IN FRANS!

Exhibition from March 16 to July 14, 2024 at the Palais Galliera
