The Serpentine Pavilion 2026, a serpentine, is designed by Mexico City-based LANZA atelier, founded by Isabel Abascal and Alessandro Arienzo, and takes its name from the serpentine wall. As is typical of LANZA’s practice, the architects reimagined a familiar material – brick – which is used throughout the Pavilion and is the inspiration behind the design of the accompanying catalogue designed by Estudio Herrera.

LANZA’s first monograph brings together new and insightful contributions from the fields of architecture and literature to reflect on LANZA atelier’s Pavilion and wider practice. Generously illustrated in colour throughout, it features essays by curator José Esparza Chong Cuy; Pulitzer Prize-winning author Cristina Rivera Garza; and a poem by Ocean Vuong. Alongside these contributions, the book features hand-drawn site plans from LANZA’s design process; an essay by Isabel Abascal; and an in-depth interview with Serpentine Artistic Director Hans Ulrich Obrist.
