Henry Van de Velde (1863-1957) designed 3 important theatres: the Théatre Louis Dumont in Weimar which was never built, the Théatre des Champs Élyzées designed together with Auguste and Gustave Perret in Paris (1913) and the theatre for the Werkbund exhibition (1913-1914) in Cologne, demolished in 1914, three montha after the first world war began.
This publication gives an insight into the plans, construction and ideas of Henry Van de Velde about these theatres.
