In this book Van Saene tells his story through handwritten texts and a wealth of imagery – tracing his journey from a young fashion designer who was part of the Antwerp Six and his subsequent tenure as a teacher at the Antwerp Fashion Academy to the present day, where he had decisively chosen to focus on the visual arts. Dirk’s name was constantly mispronounced and misspelled, so back in 2001, graphic designer Paul Boudens created a series of humorous T-shirts featuring variations such as “Dirk de Sanne,” “Dirk von Zahne,” and “Dirck van Sean”. These have now been re-released in a limited edition of 50 copies. Furthermore, Dirk Van Saene created an original collage on the covers of these 50 books.
