Tim Van Laere Gallery presents No Denial, No Explanation, a new solo exhibition by internationally acclaimed artist Dirk Braeckman (b. 1958).

Braeckman is known for his meditative, monochromatic photographs that challenge the speed and clarity of contemporary visual culture. His images are not mere representations but material objects—altered, deconstructed, and reassembled through a meticulous process. Working with both analog and digital tools, including AI, Braeckman approaches photography with a painterly sensitivity, emphasizing texture, surface, and the physical presence of the image.

Central to his practice is the use of his own vast archive, where time and distance allow new meanings to emerge. Recent solo exhibitions at FOMU Antwerp and Kunstmuseum Den Haag saw him reworking both institutional and personal archives, revealing the layered ambiguity and constructed nature of photographic imagery. Braeckman’s work invites viewers to slow down, to look deeply, and to engage with the poetic power of the unseen.
