Accattone explores minor practices in art and architecture through the specific means of the printed magazine. As a print exhibition, each issue brings together contributions whose shared stances toward reality, history, and representation resonate with one another.
In the current landscape of non-commercial publications, Accattone’s originality lies in the strong visual orientation and the close articulation of methods, editorial devices and content presented. Through these experiences, crossing the methods of artist-iconographers with emerging architectural practices, Accattone critically addresses a fundamental aspect of thought and practice: the working document and the evolution of the status of the image.
Annual periodical, self-published in Brussels by two architects (Sophie Dars & Carlo Menon) and two graphic designers (Ismaël Bennani & Orfée Grandhomme), Accattone has acquired international recognition and distribution in both professional and academic contexts.
With contributions by Clément Hébert, Élodie Degavre, the more than 50 participants in the High Tech Low Tech exhibition at EPFL Lausanne, DSCTHK (Jérôme André & Thibaut Blondiau), Oliver Burch, Kosmos, Fuminori Nousaku & Mio Tsuneyama, Antoine Angeard & Lise Duchamp, Lars Lerup, Pierre Leguillon.
