In 1990 the Groninger Museum organized the manifestation What a Wonderful World in collaboration with the Spatial Planning Department. The starting point of the manifestation was to remove the video clip, as a current media phenomenon, from the private sphere and place it in public space. Five architects were invited to design a temporary-use pavilion in which these clips would be shown. This resulted in Bernard Tschumi’s pavilion, Rem Koolhaas’ bus stop, a Coop Himmelblau pavilion, a Peter Eiseman pavilion and a Zaha Hadid pavilion. After the manifestation, only Tschumi’s pavilion and Koolhaas’ Videobus stop was maintained.
