Born in 1998, Natalie Malisse is a Brussels photographer who trained at the ESA Le 75 (Brussels) and at the KASK (Ghent). Through images and texts, her practice interweaves documentary and art photography and questions topics related to traumatic memory, mental health, disability and gender inequalities.
The nights bring back the memories that our days strive to forget. “la grande maison” (2018-2023) is a photographic exploration of memory fragments that haunt personal recurring nightmares. photographs and texts reveal the invisible shadows and wounds of childhood in the paternal home as the house becomes a mental space that spans beyond its walls.
