Francesca Torzo (*1975, Padua, Italy) is an Italian architect who has run her own practice in Genoa since 2008. She studied architecture in Delft, Barcelona, Mendrisio, and Venice. She worked with Peter Zumthor and Bosshard Vaquer, and taught at the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio. Since 2017, she has been a professor at the Bergen School of Architecture in Norway. In 2018, she participated in the Venice Architecture Biennale and chaired the Maarten Van Severen Foundation in Ghent from 2018 to 2019.

In 2012, Torzo won the international competition for the renovation of Z33 with her proposal, after which she started working on and following up her design for the new exhibition wing of this arts centre in Hasselt.
The book features an extensive archive of sketches, models, site photographs, execution drawings, photographic reports, and vision statements by Francesca Torzo, woven together with a critical essay by Christoph Grafe. It is published in conjunction with Building Correctly, a lecture by Francesca Torzo, offering a privileged insight in her conceptual world of references.
