Engineering with Ole Vanggaard is a tribute to engineer Ole Vanggaard. The book shows his work, studies, research and collaborative projects – through 16 authors from different countries.
Ole Vanggaard’s special interest in the challenges of the leaning, the cross-border and the chaotic has been a joy and inspiration for his colleagues, and he has been able to assist both students, architects  and artists with unconventional and visionary solutions to even the most challenging tasks.
The texts cover all topics related to Ole Vanggaard’s work, from his studies at DTU, work with Ove Arup, Frei Otto and Ted Happold, with Professor Jørgen Nielsen, his teaching and research at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, Nordic cooperation projects in Norway, the Faroe Islands and Sweden, etc., and his cooperation with Danish artists and architects.

According to Ole Vanggaard, “the borderland between architecture and engineering is chaotic, a dangerous field to work in. Here the basic rules of art and technique are not valid.” For him, chaos makes sense, and concepts are developed from a focused perception and an ability to develop calculation methods for complicated constructions.
