Sophie Wetton (EN/BE) graduated from LUCA School of Arts Ghent in 2019. Her photographs have been published on such platforms as Vogue Italy, PH Museum, Subbacultcha and more recently Rotterdam Photo Festival.
The current series of photographs is a documentary fiction of time spent in the first lockdown of 2020. Pregnant and isolated in a rural setting, the search for moments of excitement in the everyday becomes apparent. Approaching her photography in a simular way to painting, Whetton exploits the qualities of her camera and polaroid film to express a particular light and colour.
