Sarah De Vos (°1985 Brussels) creates, triggered by music and film, images that have a seductive beauty, while at the same time evoking critical reflections on how we deal with images. At a certain moment this led De Vos to paint on (the back of) glass. More recent work has been painted on wooden panels, whereby the painting was finally sealed with a transparent epoxy layer. In this way mirrors have emerged, in which our own reflection inevitably plays a role in the perception of the elusive image, here and now.
This monograph provides an overview of Sarah De Vos’ work from 2003 to 2021.
