In 1951, amidst lingering scars of war, Banraisha – the Faculty Retreat of Keio University – arose on the university’s Mita campus in Tokyo, through the collaboration of the architect Yoshiro Taniguchi and sculptor, Isamu Noguchi. This elegant Japanese publication provides a survey of the building through both historical and recent photographs, and is accompanied by plans, drawings, documents and essays.
