David Neirings
David Neirings
Artist, °1972

Ghent

We have known David for a very long time; he was once my youngest customer. As a 12-year-old he used to come into our bookshop chaperoned by his aunt, Jenny Vandriessche, who ran a gallery at the time. The young David collected anything by Keith Haring and graffiti. As well as books and catalogues, he also had an incredible collection of signed paraphernalia by Haring. As he didn't always have the money to pay for the books, we gave him credit and every week, after receiving his pocket money, he would dutifully come and settle his debts!
David is now an artist and bon viveur. He makes multimedia installations, mainly in situ. In 2007 Copyright Antwerp asked him to make a monumental work which is on permanent show in the shop.
He still loves books and his eclectic tastes include art, typography, fashion, photography and design.
