Richard Serra has engaged in an intensive discussion of printing and its potential since the early stages of his work as an artist. What he seeks to achieve is not the mere duplication of a piece of paper, but the continuous extension and radical further development of the possibilities of expression through printing and a discussion of the options offered by the various techniques, as well as the qualities of the material he uses.

In an age of increasing technical reproducibility, Richard Serra unwaveringly creates prints that do not convey or indeed reinforce any kind of certainty but which focus on and question the credibility of experience and their own self assurance. This title contains over 200 prints created up to the end of 2007; and each print is listed with a small format illustration.
