Landscape Architecture Review Netherlands

Paisea Revista

PaiseaDos is the new publication of Paisea Revista. Also monographic, but about countries. Also bilingual but nearly a book... or a travel guide. Because we want to give, with every issue, a global vision of the situation of each country concerning landscape design. Following two articles as a introduction to the country and the way they live landscaping, a selection of ten outstanding teams and some of the actual emerging teams will show us their emblematic projects to help us understand how landscape in their country is analysed, studied, worked out, constructed and definitively, how it is lived.

Content of each issue:
- Country introduction article
- Article about local landscape architecture in the moment
- 10 important landscape architects: curriculum, 2 built projects (mini-memory, sketches, plans, photos)
- 3 emergent landscape architects: curriculum, 1 built project

The Netherlands: huge water engineering projects, land reclamation, re-cultivating the agricultural land… even if landscape architects have sometimes fought against the radical landscape changes caused by all this technical intervention, it has been more the other way around: the profession has accepted it as an inevitable phenomenon in the Dutch landscape, and sought guidelines to optimize the outcome. It seems to be a general habit of Dutch landscape architects to be fascinated by the dialogue between man-made landscapes and natural dynamics.
