We have known Vincent Van Duysen for 25 years. He remodelled our first little bookshop in the Haarstraat and the shop in the Nationalestraat. Vincent lives with, for and through books; they are an essential part of both his professional and private life. Apart from publications relating to his own fields of architecture and interior design, he also likes classics and new developments in art and photography. A new monograph on Van Duysen by the English publisher Thames & Hudson is due out in 2010. (The previous book published by Gustavo Gili in 2001 is sold out.) Van Duysen chose 'Lump. The Dog who ate a Picasso' by David Douglas Duncan Author, a book by Louise Bourgeois, Nan Goldin 'I'll be your Mirror', the monograph on architect Aires Mateus, and the two beautiful textbooks by Peter Zumthor 'Atmospheres'. Vincent's dachshund Gaston went straight for 'David Hockney's Dog Days'. June 2008 |
