Tom Broes
Architect, °1981 Ghent Tom is self-employed and is currently working with architects Robbrecht & Daem in Ghent. What appeals to him in architecture is not so much 'high' architecture as the buildings in different cultures which came about without the involvement of 'architects', the ordinary structures with their specifically vernacular characteristics. He purchased the book 'Fujimori', about a Japanese architect whose interests and views he shares. Tom also sees similarities between Fujimori and the philosophy set out in Rudofsky's standard work 'Architecture without Architects'. He also chose monographs on Adolf Loos and Terragni. May 2008 |
