Babs Decruyenaere
Employee Copyright Bookshop Antwerp and artist, °1978 Antwerp Babs studied graphic art in Antwerp before doing a postgraduate course in visual art in Breda (the Netherlands) and evening classes in photography - her real passion - in Antwerp. As an artist she works with photography about photography; her basic principle is the camera obscura. Her work was short-listed for the Canvascollectie competition (organized by Canvas television) in 2008. She chose a book about the Centre Pompidou collection because Beaubourg showcases both the classics and contemporary photography, and also 'Stilleben' by Michael Wesely, 'Gerhard Richter - Landscapes' and Johan Swinnen's essays on photography, 'De lichte kamer'.
