6th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art (Reader)

The “Berlin Biennale” is organized by the KW Institute for Contemporary Art and supported by the Federal Cultural Foundation. The 6th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art presenting works by 50 artists is curated by Kathrin Rhomberg. In the process, she explores the central questions regarding the contemporariness and art’s relationship to it. The exhibited works thus reflect the diversity of the artistic realization, appropriation and production of the reality that informs the present. The 6th Berlin Biennale is accompanied by two publications, a catalogue and a reader.

Reader:This book expands on the material in the catalogue and features extensive photo spreads, an essay by Michael Fried as well as the results of roundtable discussions held in advance of the Biennale in various cities and constellations with such participants as Johanna Mytkowska, Dieter Roelstraete, Slawomir Sierakowski and Artur Zmijewski, among others.
